This is what Sufrageria McCann is all about
Since we moved to a new office downtown, we’ve been restless in lateral, non-advertising initiatives.
McCann Pop-Up Gallery started it in June. Then, there was Garage Sale in July. We already had three editions of McConferences ran with Fundatia Calea Victoriei. And there are dozens of other internal activations which stretch the limits of what an ad agency is about.
Today, we present you…Sufrageria.
Collaboration with our friends at Curtea Veche Publishing, set-up and led by their quirky creative shop Griffon & Swans, Sufrageria is 3 things:
1) an ever-growing library open to all our staff, Clients and friends
it collects in one place all the books and magazines we already have around the office and subscribe to and runs on a simple principle: to become a member, donate 3 books. Then, it is usual library mechanism, except for one FLAGRANT rule-break: feel free to underline, comment, bookmark, reference, leave review notes and random thoughts right inside the book.
2) a pop-up shop area
Curtea Veche is the first publishing house to offer a wide selection of their best titles at a very special price, Anthony Frost English Bookshop comes along with an offering, too, plus you’ll find an army of beautiful Sando toys on sale… and in the weeks to come expect more pop-up surprises and happenings.
3) a melting pot, a real “sufrageria” for our employees
from an empty, unused space behind our reception, we want to make it a place for folk to congregate, exchange ideas or just relax, away from their desks and meeting rooms. “A space for the learner, not the learned”.
We open with a closed-list Tea Party this Thursday, September 30, at 19:00. Let’s talk about books we love and ideas they stimulate, browse the book selection on sale, donate and start borrowing titles (if a member).
Sufrageria will also be open for public – its book-store area – throughout October, on selected days/hours to be announced.
