this winter vacation was so darn short, wasn’t it?  yet with all the colds keeping the most sane of us inside, we are still hopeful you got to read a bit more than usual.

so, the Q is:  what did you manage to read?  go to Ask and send your list w comments, as well as links to pictures - we’ll gladly post best bits.

to break the ice, here’s my modest list, b/w all travels and going outs:

1) Monocle November 2010 issue:  cover to cover, ads included, in train on my way to Chisinau. if you know me (Andrei K), you know I’m a die-hard fan.

2) Mikhail Bulgakov “Notes on the Cuffs”, “To a Mystery Friend”, “Diavoliad”, “The Fatal Eggs”, “Heart of a Dog” (which, btw, has a good movie, too, picture 3)… and couldn’t get enough.  try picturing me in a Chisinau trolley-bus w Bulgakov in hand, glued in.  yes, that good.  like he needs any of my recommendations.

3) Randy Pausch “Last Lecture” (you surely know his actual Last Lecture):  borrowed the book from my mom, and returning it during this visit couldn’t re-read some parts of it.  genuine, powerful, and greatly empowering.  a book about what really matters.

plus, tons of online stuff… but doesn’t qualify.

your turn.
